Do both parties need a Nana account?▾
No. The person who creates the document needs a Nana account. The counterparty only needs to receive a WhatsApp message and enter a PIN. They can confirm documents without registering. After confirming, they are offered the option to register their own account — but it is not required.
What if the counterparty refuses to confirm?▾
The document stays in pending state. After 48 hours it expires. The creator receives a notification and can choose to resend, edit and resend, or cancel the document. A counterparty who refuses to confirm tells you something important about the deal — before money has moved.
Can a locked document be edited or deleted?▾
No. Once a document is locked, it cannot be altered by either party or by Nana. The SHA-256 hash makes any change detectable. If the contents of a locked document are in dispute, both parties can file a dispute through Nana — but the document itself remains unchanged.
Is a Nana document legally binding?▾
Nana documents are not contracts in the strict legal sense — they are verified records of agreement. A locked Nana document is strong evidence of what was agreed, confirmed by both parties using OTP, timestamped and sealed. In a dispute before an arbiter or small claims court, it is far more credible than a screenshot or a verbal account.
What document types does Nana support?▾
Seven core types: Invoice, Trade Agreement, Receipt, Quotation, Delivery Note, Tenancy Agreement, and Instalment Agreement. Industry-specific templates are available for traders, landlords, brokers, artisans, and more — depending on your plan tier.
Does Nana work without internet?▾
Nana requires a WhatsApp connection to create and confirm documents. Once a document is locked, the verification URL and QR code are public and can be accessed by anyone with internet access — including the counterparty scanning the QR code to verify a physical document.
