For Financial Institutions
Verified trade history
at scale.
Millions of Kenyan informal traders transact daily with no verifiable record. No credit history. No financial identity. Nana creates that record — at the moment of transaction, confirmed by both parties, sealed cryptographically.
With user consent, that verified trade history is available to your institution for credit assessment, limit setting, and customer profiling.
The data opportunity
What Nana data
tells your institution.
Verified Transaction Volume
Not stated income. Verified trade — amount, counterparty, document type, frequency, over time. A locked invoice is evidence of a real transaction, confirmed by the buyer with an OTP, sealed with SHA-256.
Completion Rate
What percentage of documents sent by this user were confirmed by the counterparty? A high completion rate signals a trader who transacts legitimately with real counterparties. A low rate raises questions.
Payment Consistency
Instalment agreement payment records show whether a user honours scheduled payments. This is behavioural credit data — not stated creditworthiness, but demonstrated payment discipline.
Trade Network Quality
Who does this user transact with? Do those counterparties also have Nana histories? A trader who consistently transacts with verified counterparties is a lower risk than one whose counterparties are unknown.
Data access model
Consent-based.
Always user-controlled.

Nana does not share user data without explicit, informed user consent. No institution accesses a user's trade history unless that user has actively granted access — through Nana's consent flow, on their own WhatsApp, in their own time.

The consent is specific — the user chooses which institution, what data, and for how long. It can be revoked at any time. This is not opt-out data sharing. It is opt-in, user-controlled, consent-based access.

Data shared includes: verified transaction volume, document types, completion rate, counterparty count, payment history on instalment agreements. It does not include document contents, counterparty identities, or personal communications.

Why institutions care
Verified trade history, with consent
The informal economy is hard to lend to because it's invisible — no records, no track record, no way to assess risk. Nana changes that. Every confirmed deal builds a verifiable trade history that a trader can choose to share with you: real volumes, real counterparties, real repayment behaviour. Not a credit score Nana invents — the underlying evidence, shared only with the user's explicit consent.
